We are thrilled to open this new window into the people who make success and innovation possible in our company. To start, we present Rafael Gozalbes, the CEO and founder of ProtoQSAR S.L. and MolDrug AI System S.L.
Rafael is a notable figure with a strong academic background and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy, which he developed through a project focused on exploring new antiprotozoal compounds using chemoinformatics techniques. After completing his doctorate, he continued his career as a postdoctoral researcher in France, in a collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine at Paris Descartes University and the Institute of Topology and System Dynamics (ITODYS) at Denis Diderot University – CNRS, at the current University of Paris Cité. He then spent seven years working at Cerep, now integrated within Eurofins. In 2007, he returned to Valencia as a researcher in the Structural Biochemistry group at the Prince Felipe Research Center (CIPF).
He finds his greatest satisfaction in his role within the company by being part of its growth from the beginning and witnessing how a competitive company is being built together with the entire team. He loves the projects he participates in, especially those that combine technology with a significant social impact. However, what he is most passionate about is giving talented and motivated young people in the team the opportunity to thrive. He knows that the success of the company depends not only on his own actions but also on the commitment and dedication of each team member, whose collective effort drives the organization’s growth and innovation.
We cannot overlook that, despite his wide range of responsibilities, he has successfully delegated specific tasks to team members, allowing them to take on leadership roles in specific areas. This has led to an effective organizational structure that has greatly contributed to the continued success of both companies under his leadership.
But it’s not just about professional success. Rafael also finds fulfillment in art and culture. He enjoys cinema, especially classics like “The Godfather” and “The Night of the Hunter.” In literature, he appreciates works such as “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and when it comes to music, he loves the album “Alchemy” by Dire Straits.
In short, Rafael is a prime example of dedication and vision, blending his passion for science and technology with nurturing talent within his team.
