Welcome to a new edition of “Meet the Team”!
Today, we introduce our Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), Eva Serrano Candelas, whose strong academic background and dedication to research have been key to our success.
Eva holds a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Valencia, a Master’s in Biomedical Research from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, another Master’s in Bioinformatics from the University of Valencia, and a PhD in Biomedicine from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Between 2013 and 2018, she worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Fundació Clínic per a la Recerca Biomèdica, and from 2014 to 2022, she was an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Barcelona.
As CSO at ProtoQSAR, Eva coordinates the company’s various projects, providing technical support to the team, contributing to the development of new proposals, as well as managing project justifications.
Eva truly enjoys programming and developing new models—not just QSAR models, but any type that allows her to reach clear conclusions. She is also passionate about the creative aspect of crafting new proposals. She especially values constructive discussions in her scientific work, where different perspectives and experiences bring fresh insights to the process.
Eva loves video games and is an avid reader in her free time. Her music recommendations include the track “Gerudo Valley” from Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and for books, she suggests anything from the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
In this entry, we’ve introduced another member of the ProtoQSAR team and their professional and personal contributions.
