In this issue, we are delighted to introduce Jessica Coto Palacio, computer specialist at ProtoQSAR.

Her academic background

Jessica holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, both from the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de las Villas in Cuba. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has participated in various conferences and scientific publications, especially in the field of artificial intelligence and reinforcement learning applied to real-world scheduling problems.

Some of her most notable contributions include: “A Q-Learning algorithm for flexible job shop scheduling in a real-world manufacturing scenario – CATS 2022”, “Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning Tool for Job Shop Scheduling Problems – OLA 2020 and BNAIC 2019”, “Aplicación de sistemas neuroborrosos en la clasificación de reportes – UCLV 2019” and “A Reinforcement Learning Approach for the Report Scheduling Process – IWAIPR 2018”.

Her role at ProtoQSAR

Jessica works as an IT Specialist at ProtoQSAR. Her main responsibilities include providing technical support to the team, solving hardware, software, and network-related issues. She also contributes to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and systems, both for internal use and for the company’s external projects.

What she enjoys the most about her job

Jessica especially enjoys developing applications and providing technical support to the team. She is motivated by helping ensure that the company’s technological processes run smoothly and by assisting her colleagues in their daily tasks.

Her hobbies and recommendations

Jessica is passionate about technology and travel. She loves discovering new destinations and cultures. Among her personal recommendations are the song “Para Que Un Día Vuelvas” by Leoni Torres and Pablo Milanés, the novel “Quo Vadis?”, and the film “Society of the Snow”, based on real events, which left a strong impression on her.
