Welcome to another edition of “Meet the Team”!

Today, we’re excited to introduce Enrique Llobet, a PhD student at ProtoQSAR.

Foto EnriqueEnrique holds a Biotechnology degree from the Universidad Católica de Valencia and a Master’s in Bioinformatics from the Universitat de València. His passion for research began at the Príncipe Felipe Research Center, where he focused on neuronal regeneration. Later, during his Master’s, he worked at the Institute of Biomedicine of Valencia, developing machine learning models for the early diagnosis of cognitive disorders.

Currently, as a PhD student at ProtoQSAR, Enrique is dedicated to developing QSAR models to predict the toxicological properties of chemical compounds, with a special focus on nanomaterials. His project stands out for using novel descriptors to enhance toxicity predictions.

What does he love most about his work? The development of QSAR models using machine learning techniques, where he combines biology, chemistry, and advanced data analysis to solve scientific challenges.

Outside of work, Enrique is passionate about martial arts, especially Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and enjoys reading science fiction and cosmic horror. He recommends the novel 1984 by George Orwell and the video game SOMA.

Thanks for getting to know Enrique and his incredible work in our team!

Don’t miss our upcoming editions of “Meet the Team”, where we’ll continue introducing the people who are part of our team.
