In this new edition of Meet the Team, we’re pleased to introduce Eduardo Cubells Molina, a key member of the Business Development department at ProtoQSAR. With a background in business management, a strategic mindset, and a unique ability to bridge science and communication, Eduardo plays a vital role in driving the company’s growth.
Academic background and professional experience
Eduardo holds a Higher National Diploma in Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Intelligence to further strengthen his analytical and strategic capabilities within business and technology environments.
Although his background is not in scientific research, Eduardo has built his career in innovation and technology sectors. He has led internationalization strategies, business development initiatives, and growth plans for both startups and established companies. This experience has equipped him to navigate the challenges of working in a cutting-edge field like artificial intelligence applied to chemistry.
His role at ProtoQSAR
At ProtoQSAR, Eduardo focuses on identifying strategic growth opportunities, establishing key collaborations, and expanding the company’s presence in international markets. A central part of his work involves market and trend analysis as well as the ongoing development of our SEO strategy, particularly for ProtoPRED, our predictive tool based on QSAR models.
He is also involved in evaluating European R&D funding calls, ensuring project alignment with ProtoQSAR’s mission. His communication efforts with clients and strategic partners are crucial to making sure our AI-based solutions reach the companies and institutions that need them most.
What he enjoys most about his work
“What truly motivates me is everything related to business strategy. I love analyzing markets, identifying trends, and finding new growth opportunities. But what I enjoy the most, and find most challenging, is translating what we do at ProtoQSAR into language that anyone can understand. Explaining complex concepts like QSAR and AI in chemistry without losing someone’s attention in 30 seconds is an art. And when you get it right, that’s when deals happen and the company keeps growing”.
Beyond ProtoQSAR: hobbies and recommendations
A passionate film lover, Eduardo enjoys everything from classic cinema to indie and experimental films. He’s also an avid traveler, having visited over 20 countries, always eager to explore local culture, history, and cuisine, often through free walking tours. His dream destination is Japan, a country he finds fascinating for its cultural richness and contrast with Western perspectives.
