Participation in the workshop of the LIFE-COMBASE project and in the ESTIV2018 Congress. Throughout October we have had the opportunity to present our work in two events which took place in Italy and Germany respectively.
Our colleague Sergi Gómez has participated in the congress organized by the Spanish Society of Environmental Mutagenesis (SEMA), which this year has taken place in the Escuelas Pías de San Fernando (UNED Madrid). This event has allowed to bring together national and international researchers related to mutagenesis and environmental genomics, in each and every one of its disciplines, addressing different issues such as the bases of DNA damage and its repair, mutagenic processes, heritable effects, genetic and epigenetic alterations in the genome function, and their relevance in the appearance of diseases.
During the first week of June, the first summer school of the European project PROTECTED was held in the British city of Belfast, and all students of the project attended.
On May 22nd, a workshop entitled “International Workshop on safe implementation of nanomaterials in plastic industry, SI2P” took place in Toulouse (France) in the context of the NanoDesk project.
The first international workshop of the LIFE-COMBASE project will take place on October 19th, 2017 at the Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri (IRFMN) in Milan, Italy. The main results of the project to date will be described,and several speakers representing regulatory agencies- such as EFSA- and research institutions in the knowledge areas of QSAR and non-testing methods will participate. This workshop has been organized as a networking event for stakeholders in the value chain of biocides, including industries, regulatory bodies and research institutions. The CEEIs of the Valencian Community, the Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community (REDIT) and the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) have held at the headquarters of the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV) an informative day about the NEOTEC 2017 call. NEOTEC is a Spanish program to facilitate access to financing support to technology-based companies, which this year is provided with 20 million euros.
